âShot setup JSON File
When you âSend to SynthEyesâ, a description of the clip is written to this JSON file: its name, where to find it, resolution, length, aspect ratio, where to put the sni file, the export file, etc. Much of this information isnât actually needed, but is included as a cross-check.
The JSON file contains only relative pathnames; they are interpreted to be relative to the folder containing the JSON file. That makes it easy to move the JSON file and Clip folder around on a machine, or from one machine to another if needed.
SynthEyes is told to process this file using an obscure âFlame Initial Startupâ script, which sets up the shot in SynthEyes to conclude the âSend to SynthEyesâ process.
You might notice that a âScript/Flame/Load shot setup from Flameâ script is available on the Script/Flame menu; it is the same file as âFlame Initial Startup,â although it behaves a little differently when run during startup. If you want to use the JSON file to reimport a shot into SynthEyes, you can use âScript/Flame/Load shot setup from Flameâ to do so; you then specify which JSON file specifies the shot to be opened.
The script is also used by âReopen in SynthEyesâ from the Action menu.
